Author Guidelines
We welcome full paper submissions for consideration for publication in the forthcoming 2023 volume of the Journal of Interdisciplinary Society for Quantitative Research in Music and Medicine. The Journal is peer-reviewed and brings together some of the most interesting research in the field. Papers, which were not presented at the conference may still be submitted for review and inclusion in the Journal.
Format: Please prepare the paper in Microsoft Word or equivalent in Times New Roman 12 point font, double-spaced. Do not submit the paper in PDF format. ISQRMM uses the APA 7th edition in text citation format. References should be prepared in the APA style. There should be an abstract of no more than 150 words. Papers are generally suggested to be between 4000 and 6000 words, although there is no set minimum length. Please do not insert any header or footer. Do not include any page numbers. Images should be in jpeg format and set at 600 DPI. Please include the author name(s), professional titles, affiliations, and email address. Include five keywords. In the case of multiple authors please indicate the corresponding author.
Review: The ISQRMM Editorial Board will review the paper submission and inform the author of acceptance, rejection, or any needed revisions. Once accepted, the paper will be formatted by the Journal editor who may make minor grammatical, punctuation, and stylistic alterations. The edited article will be provided in draft form to the author prior to publication and may be adjusted in minor detail at that point. No major revisions will be allowed at that point.
Publication: The Journal will be published by the ISQRMM and individual authors give up the right to remuneration for the article. The article may be used by the author for teaching purposes. However, the article may not be republished without the written consent of the ISQRMM Editorial Board and acknowledgement in any other publication of first inclusion in the ISQRMM Journal. The length of the overall Journal and the editorial process takes up to eight months for completion. Authors will receive a complimentary digital version of the Journal, as well as a separate digital version of their individual papers.
